Welcome Sweet Charity!
The Strasburg Shoppes at Center Square is proud to welcome a new member to our family - Sweet Charity Thrift Shop and Boutique. We are so excited about Sweet Charity's unique offerings and thankful for the good work they do in our community and around the world. The store opened Wednesday, May 30, and is sure to be a favorite among Strasburg locals and visitors to the area.
Sweet Charity was dreamed up by Liz Marvin and Michelle Kime. Together they opened a small, high-end thrift boutique in 2010 with the goal of donating a portion of proceeds to Michelle's charity, Imagine Goods, which supports anti-poverty organizations around the world. The store quickly outgrew its first location and reopened on Main Street in Strasburg in May 2012. The new store features four unique rooms:
The Women's Room - getntly used fashionable womens clothing, purses and locally made handcrafted jewelry.
The Children's Room - gently used clothing and accessories for babies, kids, tweens and teens, plus a wide selection of super-cute children's gift ideas.
The Artisans Room - Sweet Charity's gift shop, filled to the rim with handmade items from local artisans for the whole family. Favorites include one-of-a-kind paintings, photographs, stuffed animal "monsters," bath and body products and much more.
The Imagine Goods Room - imagine a room filled with items lovingly made by at-risk and formerly exploited women in Cambodia. These items (including apparel, home decor and accessories) are fun, vintage inspired products which provide employment opportunities for these women ... ultimately rescuing families from poverty and then issues that life in poverty can bring.
On your next trip to the Strasburg Shoppes at Center Square, please take a stroll down to Sweet Charity - you can't miss the cozy white front porch - and see what they have to offer.
