Enjoy watching the cones sizzling on the hot irons.  The RCA dog, Nipper, cocks his head to survey the wide-planked hardwood floors, antique lighting, and wrought iron ice cream parlor tables and chairs. The more than 200 year old chair railed walls inside the original timeworn marble front stoop are laden with gentle reminders of the past. A clock tells patrons to buy more Calumet. Posters tout the value of Cream of Wheat. But the piece de resistance is the 600 pound circa 1890´s marble soda fountain with silver dispensers overlooking massive glass ice cream cases. Pure homemade ice cream, mixed daily, offers flavors beyond the palate´s wildest dreams. Made of all natural premium ingredients, it boasts old fashioned goodness with 14 % butterfat. Our chocolate ice cream is made from real Wilbur´s chocolate. Mix-ins like Reese´s Pieces, M&M´s, chocolate, raisins, granola bars and cookies can be ordered and worked into the ice cream on marble slabs. Main St, right on the square in the bustling, historic town of Strasburg PA, that era still exists. Our deli menu is written daily on a large slate board and includes everything from salads to soups, deli sandwiches,"Strasburgers", and other grill items, all of which are served with locally homemade potato chips. Our signature item is the bread bowl, a specially baked round of bread which is hollowed out and filled with mouth-watering Pennsylvania Dutch chicken corn soup. In addition to our many tables and booths, additional outdoor table seating is seasonally available at the back of the creamery. Our sidewalk benches are a great place to take in the unique sights of Amish Country while enjoying a tasty treat.  |
